Visiting vessels, Aileron and Mild Oats showed the locals how the race should be sailed, with Aileron taking LINE HONOURS and Mild Oats being a close SECOND.
However, as for the performance handicap result, Runyon readers will be aware that the race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, and the smart money would have been on the freshly anti-fouled Tiercel.
Mild Oats claimed a performance handicap of 0.875; Aileron did not have a performance handicap, and was allotted a similar handicap to Mild Oats as they finished at about the same time.
Congratulations to all finishers and condolences to Jadda who turned back, and to the seldom seen Tintagel who broke a halyard before the start.
The next club event will be THE CRUISE TO THE TASMANIAN RACES START
NEXT CLUB RACING = NEW YEAR REGATTA 28 and 29 DECEMBER.
